Contains all the basics required to skin and preserve fowl and small game for fly tying. The book covers the basics on what feather and fur to use for what fly. There is good detail, explanation and illustrations for each step of the process and also includes a list of many of the flies to tie utilizing the different feathers and fur and the ingredients for each fly. The chapter on skinning, fleshing and tanning deer hides may require research beyond what is contained in this book, but the basics are there. If you are a hunter just getting into fly fishing and/or tying your own flies, or, if you are a fly fisher wanting to take your fly tying to the next level, and really "personalizing" your flies, this book is a great place to start.
