I am an avid Laurell K. Hamilton fan and I have purchased (from Ebay mostly) her entire collection. The interesting fact of this book, is it is similar to her first books. No sex, just Anita and the client wanting a animation of a corpse, and all the fighting that goes with it, but the major difference is she has all of her "gifts" and "abilities" she has aquired through her years with Jean Claude, Micah, Nathaniel, Jason, and Asher; they come in handy with the difficulties of the case. The book although shorter than the book Micah, was a nice change of pace. This book is also based lightly on Laurel's writing adventures and friends. She describes in the afterward how the book came to be and includes the comic story board she used in her plot outline. I would greatly suggest this reading. It is light on the vampire, and heavy on the zombies, it is light on the sex (as much as possible) and as always great descriptions on the characters. I love this book and am patiently awaiting the next. It was also interesting that this book was written way back during a writing slump of another book, but it has all of her "today's" stuff!! Way to go Laurell!!Read full review
I couldn't wait for Flirt (book 18) to be released..If you haven't read LKH's Super Hot, Erotically Sexy..Paranormal Series yet, I highly recomend you start. Each book can stand alone, but I seriously suggest you start with book 1, Guilty Pleasures.. You won't be able to but them down.
I enjoyed this book more than the last few of this authors. It still has throw-back descriptions and references (to keep the story on going)from her other books but its not drawn out as before, and the sex isn't drawn out either. I was going to wait a year for the paperback but glad I didn't.
When I first grabbed it I thought it was REALLY short compared to her other books, I then found out, she didn't have it scheduled to write. It was a spur of the moment idea that she let her fingers to the talking and put it out anyway. I thought it was an AWESOME read. Very true to her characters. Plus she didn't HAVE to publish it, but she did. What an awesome author!
I purchased the book because I like the author's previous works. Flirt was a quick read. It was an "unplanned" novel and shorter than her other books, so I did not expect much. Flirt actually turned out to be better than I expected. Hope to see more Jean-Claude in her upcoming novel!
