Having lost 70 pounds with 30 to go, I found myself hitting plateaus and the advice in this book seems to help. It's really composed of any small changes you can make in diet and movement, and you can choose what to try. It works good for me because I can change up and not get bored. Really it's more making better choices and not a diet kind of book. It's well written and the science behind it is easily understood. Even at the age of 68 and with COPD, there are lots of things in this book I can do. I'm not going to say I'm losing 15 pounds a week but it's a pretty steady couple of pounds a week, good enough for me. I would recommend the book.
I bought the book looking for ideas of losing weight, revising my lifetime diet, and for exercise ideas. I am impressed with the components: *a satisfying eating plan *the right foods for the right time of day *an exercise plan that is simple, targets all parts of the body, takes 20minutes *a terrific starter program to help weight-loss start up *a way to chart progress toward your goals *and over 100 yummy recipes! I have been very satisfied and delighted with the results--visible in less than 2 weeks! I would recommend this book to anyone who would like to make changes in exercise, weight loss, and eating habits.
I have not had the time to completely read and assimilate the information. However, what I have read bears testing in my own life. I purchased this book because I am always interested in heath issues and hoped it would lead me further on the path to continued good health. It is written for the lay person, which I am, and is concise and to the point. Good reading for anyone interested in burning fat in a healthy way.
This book gave ideas on how to rev up your metabolism. Some of the ideas I was already away of but they gave you some more ideas, things to do in your car, at work, or anywhere you might be waiting on someone. A great read.
I'm sorry, but I haven't had time to read it yet. I have flipped through some of it and think I'll like it. I'm hoping it will give me info on how to raise my metabolism.
