Stephen King's books are so easy to read. Was hard to put the book down. Enjoyed the book more than the movie.

Long a horror fan, I've found myself reading the older novels lately. Having saw the movie 15 years ago, I wanted to read the story of Charlie and Andy McGee. I'm about 50 pages from the end and must say that the book is so much better than the film. (Though in all honesty, that is always my opinion.) I do picture Drew Barrymore as a little girl while reading about Charlie's conflict with using her "talent"--starting fires. After immolating a few Shop agents to save her father, she's very upset at the thought of losing control of her "gift". The book gets so much further into the inner workings of both Charlie's and her father's, Andy's, minds than the film ever could have. Stephen King's characters are always very well developed for the reader's enjoyment, with their most inner workings exposed for us to relate to and love or hate as the case may be. Firestarter is not quite "horrifying" the way you'd expect, but it is a wonderful read. If you like King, don't miss this one!Read full review
This is one of the all time greats. The book was in poor condition with really yellow pages.
