Although Dell does not support this product for the Windows 10 upgrade it is upgradeable to the free Windows 10. I found this the least expensive solution not to become obsolete with the operating system support. I use it primarily for business purposes and run QuickBooks Pro 2011 on it, again Intuit does not support QuickBooks Pro 2011 for the Windows 10 operating system but it will work fine if you turn all their background update functions off. Web mailing invoices in QuickBooks will not work any more due to nasty general updates that QuickBooks gives you and intentional deletion of Help files which they say were archived (Archived into the abyss) but there is an easy workaround. You can print to PDF once you figure out that Windows 10 hijacked all your pdf files and formats them into their proprietary format that nobody can read any more. Once you printed them to pdf you created a pdf file on your system and can mail to whoever. Download one of the free pdf converters or the Microsoft pdf converter and install it as one of your printers. Manufacturers and Software developers love their crime spree of stealing money from customers by packaging old crappy software into new operating systems and than proclaiming that it is incompatible with the new system. In reality there never need to be obsolescence, but we can't blame the supplier wanting to make $1000 for selling the same thing in a different color or continuing to support the software for $100. So for all those XP users who painfully wean themself off of the old operating system this is an inexpensive solution. ($100 to $120 overall cost) Just be careful if you are planning to use the Easy File Transfer from Microsoft to get your files over to the new computer it will not work from a 32-bit system to a 64-bit system, which this is. Well, I liked the fact that it already had anti-virus installed, and some form of Open Office since it didn't have Windows or Microsoft office product. But I have to wait for what seems like minutes before everything boots up. My old 2004 computer with 2.8ghz which I replaced did everything in only seconds. But I have to wait for what seems like eternity for each switch in program to be ready to go. The updates upon my powering it off took ALL NIGHT LONG - WAAAAY INTO THE MORNING!!! And that had been started at 11pm the previous night. The computer can't handle 2 programs running at once, so that when I need to consult the tax booklets I have opened while I'm completing a tax form, it plain and simply freezes. How annoying! But the one consolation about this is that when you finally get frustrated and have to close out of them in order to get it running again - at least it saves you info so you don't have to fill out the tax form all over again! That would really make me mental. Am seriously considering whether to keep this item or not. They do say - you get what you pay for!Read full review

eBay's alesissolutions is the ideal alternative to installing a new operating system in one's XP or Vista desktop. For a comparable and very attractive price they offer a compact DELL PC in excellent shape, with Windows 7 Pro and a very attractive and practical software package. (All the drivers normally needed are in place!) I have a Windows 8 PC and have struggled to learn its often whimsical and ideosyncratical behavior. Having learned what an 'Aps' IS, I never bothered to delete about 50 of them. And, regarding Windows 10, referring to Homer's Trojan War, I am afraid of those bringing gifts. And, 'Why fly to others that we know not of!.
