I'm 22 years old but never stopped loving fairytales, fantasy and all about magic and other worlds. I'm a fan of Disney Fairies and collect books of this series. This one is the first, this is how all the series started (not taking into account Peter Pan, of course), however, when I got it, I've already owned some of those small chapter books and some issues of DF magazine. But all that stuff just can't be compared with it. THis book is simply woderful, it is written with true inspiration and love towards world and characters., while other ones are mere commercial products. They are rather primitive. Of course, thay can be interesting to their aimed audience, but Fairy Dust is one of those books which can be adored by dreamers of all ages. Some reviewers said - rather complicated for small children. Well, truly, it has higher level and higher value. The characters are rather lively, well described. There are many pitiful, sad moments in the story - well, I, both as a child and now, always liked something like this. And of course, the ending is happy. And illustrations made by David Christiana are beautiful, simply ethereal. So in my collection this is simply the best treasure. I don't want to compare Ms Levine with Mr Barry - after all, he is an honorable classic... I just loved her story.Read full review
The best feature of this book is the absolutely gorgeous watercolor illustrations. The story is intriguing and involves Tink and her friends. Their personalities come out in the story so children can find their favorites. Enjoy the heartwarming story and the beautiful illustrations. I bought the book for our 8-year-old daughter because she has the 8 Fairie character set and this book makes them come to life. Enjoy! This is one book that will be passed down as an heirloom.
This was a lovely book about the disney fairies including tinker bell. this particular story is about a brand new fairy trying to find her place on neverland. there are some trials and adversity but in the end she finds her place and all is well. The illustrations are beautiful and fairly plentiful. the double foldout illustration in the front was a pleasant suprise . with close to 200 pages its a good read for my 2nd grader and myself as well. a delightful glimpse into the disney fairy world.
This tome fills a void for earnest young readers. It provides our child a fanciful adventure that challenges her imagination and comprehension, overall. As parents, we have whetted her appetite for imaginative stories by reading myriad storybooks transcendent of her level. We like this particular storybook because she is challenged by the content and this helps her to read above her level, on her own. The illustrations are superb as they enhance the story's essence. This sates her peripheral awareness for so many other stories, indeed.
this is a wonderful book
