Fringe has great actors...the characters are believable and feel real. Very interesting show that makes you wonder what really is possible. Looks excellent on Blu-Ray and has many special features, including behind the scenes, getting to know the cast and many more. Each episode brings you into their world and for me, I don't take my eyes away and am definitely never bored. No show is comparable to it in any way. It's a truly unique show that should be watched at least once.

Many people are comparing this to X-Files. I'm a big fan of XFiles and I think Fringe is something quite different. This is not so much about supernatural but rather what they call "fringe" science. All the tricks happen here in labs or big corporations. The cast helps to make the show very energetic and fast, plus John Noble brings a nice touch of humor. The plot unveils itself a little bit more at each episode, this is unlike other shows where each episode has a life of its own. You have to be patient or wait for the whole season to understand how all the elements work in a puzzle. The characters and story are original, it's fast paced, has nice fx and humor, it's a great show. Add to the BluRay makes everything just pop on the screen.
There hasn't been a show like this, or this good since the X-files. Ideas that would seem ridiculously far fetched in any other TV show actually sound like sensible and scientifically plausible reasoning due to the dynamic interaction of the characters. Joshua Jackson supports Anna Torv's character in uncovering strange Phenomenon, while John Noble's character adds a well suited humor, while at the same time being tormented by his actions in the past. Noble also pulls of the part of "Mad Scientist" brilliantly; The reactions of his character's son (played by Jackson) seem genuinely perplexing and one truly believes that he thinks his fathers idea's are irrational and at time, down right insane. The show is pulled along by Homeland security agent Phillip broyles (Lance Reddeck) who gives Agent Dunham (Torv) the benefit of the doubt in many scenes. If you were a fan of the X-files, this show is for you, even if your not, chances are the show will spark a few of your interests or will pull you in gradually as the story unfolds. ***** star rating from this viewer.Read full review
I can't possibly have more great things to say about this show. Each episode gets better and better. Leaves you wondering where they will go next! Can't wait to get the rest of the seasons! I got my boyfriend hooked on the show and now he stays up late watching it like an addict. A lot of people compare this series to the X-Files but I find that this show is way better than the X-Files. It has superbly written plots and the choice of casting was spot-on too. My only complaint about the series is that they tend to go the way of "The Dead Zone" in that they get caught up in conspiracy theories instead of all the cool and creepy cases that they had in this first seasons; but with that being said I still like the way they are handling the show and would highly recommend it to anyone.
Love this series but when I looked thru my collection I was missing the first season. Excellent price and excellent value.
