Smoosh is a band that seems to transcend the love it or hate it status into a conversation more about wether or not they are impressive for their age (not to mention their numbers). The album certainly feels immature at times, sounds can seem simplistic and there are a few gentle experimentations that seem to not work and are in there more for the sake of just doing it. I will choose to be a bit subjective and say that all things considered this is an impressive album. Smoosh has only two band members, I'm assuming little budget to work with and has a slight 27 years of life between the two of them. Its impressive the dynamics that get pulled off in this album, some songs are pulled off very well and are often quite catchy and easy to listen too. Their next album is going to have to step it up on all accounts if they want to be considred the real deal but for now this is still a success on most levels and full of potential.Read full review
I bought this CD finally mainly because I couldn't find it in my local stores and genuinely loved their music. They've gone from cute little girls in a band, to attractive young women with more talent, drive, and skill than that of 90% of the popular bands. Their music has matured very well as they continue to tackle bigger subjects. I recommend giving this album a listen and grabbing a copy.
