Groups shrank from 3-4 inches to 1-2 inches using blackhorn bowder and hornady 250 grain sabot. Also, ignition time was greatly reduced. The near hangfire or just perceptible slow ignitions are gone....now ignition it instantaneous. The blackhorn 209 powder blackhorn breech plug is a must have combo.

Maybe it's just the culture of black powderers, but being new to the world of ramrodding a load and dealing with dirtier black powder combustion I'm inclined to think I'd be a little happier with this breech plug if it had come with a correctly sized reamer rod to use when the pin hole gets clogged with dirt

Great company. Always accommodating and helpful

Highly recommend for muzzle loading with all the loose powders. I use only black horn 209 but it works equally as good on all the loose powders but not for pellets. Recessed end allows powder to fill the area where the spark ignites the powder. very clean and extremely reliable in wet or cold weather.

Precisely crafted in hardened steel not stainless, allows the use of a 209 primer and fits the CVA Optima V2 firearm perfectly. this breech plug clearly is produced as OEM in genuine CVA pkg with a quality setting tool included
