I purchased the book to provide me information as I am in the process of rebuilding a Ford 302 engine. The book has lots of nice illustrations, lot's of information and is realtively easy to read. Problem 1, I found contradictory information in this publication as compared to others I have in my library. Second, the manual does NOT cover all years and models. There is NO information on the 302 HO (5.0). The HO engine came with a steel roller cam, hydraulic roller lifters and utilized the 351 firing order. Makes a big diference when you are installing new heads, lifters and rockers. All in all not a bad book, just not helpful in what I am doing. If you were a first time engine builder it provides a lot of good basic info, but I would let your machinist prepare and put the engine back together, mistakes are very expensive.Read full review
This book is terrible. Purchased to get torque and clearance specs to overhaul my 460 engine, this book provides none of that info. This book is for people who want to know the basics of rebuilding with no intention of doing so. Very disappointed.

A very good publication, one of many, from the Haynes manuals.

It has been very helpful but I don't understand why they don't cover anything electrical in this book just the engine it's self.

I learned some things that will be useful in the rebuild of my small block ford engine from this manual. I have two 66 mustangs that are project cars and I am taking both to bare bones. A REBUILT engine is a doable for me and can be done by most anyone who reads this Manual.
