The reason I like this book so much is that the author did NOT just assume everything that everyone else wrote about the time was correct and just continue a traditional approach to the period. I've actually read the book several times. This is my second copy. My first experience with the book is one of the advance reader copies the publisher creates to send to lucky readers. I would not have bought another copy except that the advance reader copy does not include an index. I'm using the book for reference now and I wanted to have an index, so I bought another whole copy just to have the index. Anyway, I really like the book. It is one of the few that tells things as they were and especially, doesn't make nice comments about FDR just because everyone else does. If you want the straight story about what was happening at the start of WW2 with FDR and WSC and everyone else directly involved, you can't do better than this book. Any book I read more than once is a treasure to me!!Read full review
