A surprise hit when it first aired in 1996, EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND has found its legs as one of television's most enduring and entertaining sitcoms. Comedian Ray Romano developed the series around his successful standup routines where he lampooned the married life of the everyman. The comedian stars as an altered version of himself, Ray Barone, a Long Island sportswriter who has the wife of his dreams, Debra (Patricia Heaton). Unfortunately, their life of bliss is constantly being interrupted by Ray's bickering parents, Frank (Peter Boyle) and Marie (Doris Roberts), as well as his dopey brother Robert (Brad Garrett), who all live close by.     Raymond is great!

    Season 1 is a good season, but it isn't the funniest season. Season 2 has to be my favorite so far. It's a good show to watch when you're bored, had a bad day, or you just need a good laugh, or you just want to get Away from your every day life. This show is funny because most of it is likely a situation we all face in our lives. This show is a five star show, so buy it, watch it, and love it! I mean after all who doesn't love Raymond?

    Everybody Loves Raymond, First Season, DVD

    We decided as a family that we would purchase all the seasons of our favorite TV shows. "Everybody Loves Raymond" is one of our choices. The first season is absolutely hilarious. I was actually surprised as sometimes the first season is a work in progress and not quite up to par. It was pure laughter from start to finish. After seeing all of the discs, the last disc has an interview with Ray Romano and Phil Rosenthal (creator). They spoke of how the TV show was made after actual life of Ray. Very funny is that Phil Rosenthal also has a similar type of family. Together they have a wealth of material to use for the shows! It is also very interesting how they decided on the actors that they chose. What fun they must have had making this hilarious TV series!
