Everything about my purchase was great! It is important to note though that it does NOT include the orange cover slip currently pictured. I've been trying to track down one of those copies for awhile. The ones that include the orange cover slips have a limited edition art book I've been wanting. Hope they change their photo to reflect what they're actually selling. Other than that it was a great purchase. My favorite Evangelion film!

Evangelion 2.22: You Can(Not) Advance is an excellent addition to any collector's anime set, especially those who follow the Evangelion franchise. This set comes with a matte orange slipcover, a small booklet inside with artwork and character profiles, and of course, the hi-def blu-ray film, extended cut. I bought this product because it was the Out-Of-Print version, and it is very hard to find the version with the orange slip-cover. It may not matter for many, but for others, it really makes a difference, and it looks like a piece of art amid your collection of movies and shows. The slip-cover itself is matted and textured, and so isn't glossy; I don't really have any strong feelings about the texture, though it does stand out against other glossy slipcovers. The booklet itself is nice, though a bit small. It is a bit thin, and the pictures themselves are a little small, but they complement the set nicely. The film itself is of course extraordinary, and everything looks super crisp and sharp in HD. Though I would have liked a Brand New copy instead of a used copy (albeit in really good condition), I'm still quite content with it, knowing that there are not many remaining copies still up for sale. If you love Evangelion, and you spot this First Press edition, I heavily recommend purchasing this item.Read full review
I'll be honest, I only bought this because my original copy was apparently missing the orange slipcover. My 1.11 and 3.33 both have covers, so I wanted to complete the set, so to speak. Is it good value? Well... It's just for aesthetics, for me anyways, so I guess? Honestly this is probably my least favorite of the trilogy (suppose it's a quadrilogy now, 4th one better have a cover) so the buy was purely just for making my little collection look a tiny bit nicer.

I've been a strong fan of NGE for years now and I had to get my hands on the upcoming movies on BR. The film being rebuilt from the ground up in graphics and color, it is more vibrant, sharp and crisp. My only complaint about ordering this was that I thought I would receive the Orange slip cover edition as displayed in the picture but it was your standard Blue-Ray Case. Although it may not make much a difference, I was really hoping that it would be in the orange slip case as it would look nice next to my Evangelion You Are Not Alone special edition case.
The reboot of the series is good and the visuals are enhanced, of course (cgi), but the scenes are different from what I remember in the original series. Paying a little extra for the BluRay really pays off when watching it on HD. You get a crisp, clear picture. I was somewhat dissapointed that I didn't receive it in a box cover as it was advertised.
