I use Adobe Acrobat Pro with this and the scanning feature on Adobe allows me to "manually" scan both sides very efficiently. I was able to scan a 200 pages front/back in under 20 minutes tops, depending on your computer configurations. I got this mainly for its auto feeder capability and it handles the task quite well. The only problem I've experienced was when something goes wrong in the middle of the scan and your Adobe crashes and everything is lost. However, given the time that it takes it really isn't much of a problem that would make me consider a more expensive auto feeder scanner
I have been using this brand and style of scanner for over 2 years and have been pleasantly surprised. I just purchased this one for my new office and it has been working beautifully. I recommend this scanner for basic top loading and scanner bed needs. It doesn't do double-sided top loading documents so that is the only drawback. For that, I am considering upgrading to an HP 400 series printer/scanner.

great scanner easy to use. The foot print is good. I like the capability of having both the document feeder and the flat top option to scan. With the right software also makes the use ideal for a paperless office. I use Nuance Paperport software, makes it ideal to scan directly into the correct folder, and with a WD cloud drive, I can access the documents from anywhere.
Has all the features I need

I have owned many Epson products over the years and have always been impressed with their product offerings. I wish I could say the same thing about this scanner, but unfortunately they have missed the mark here. I tried everything, but I could not get this machine to feed pages from the Automatic Document Feeder without jams and miss-feeds, one page works fine, two pages and the mishaps begin. It is advertised as being able to smoothly scan up to 30 to 40 pages unattended. You cannot load the ADF and walk away, it simply does not work! I would not recommend this product to anyone, unless you are into creating non-traditional art forms from glass and thermoplastic, which can be melted and shaped into almost anything but a scanner.
