Clear and Insightful
This book is a clear introduction to the field of environmental sociology as well as to the social constructionist perspective. Hannigan shows how our response to environmental issues is largely influenced by the way (or even if) we as a society construct them as a problem. The first edition is much better than the second, too. Some members of my class got the second edition and it didn't have nearly as much on social construction.
