This was a clever movie having to do with the Mellinneum Bug fears that surrounded the turn of the 21st century. The storyline highlights an electronic heist of billions of dollars cash, in very small amounts from millions of different accounts. These accounts are all controlled by a major Pacific Rim banking clearing house. This was to be accomplished during a secret security scan upload designed to be run just seconds before the beginning of the new century. These small, insignificant amounts would not even be traceable. The players are Sean Connery who is supposed to be an aging master thief, and Catherine Zeta-Jones who is an insurance security agent. All while pretending to be chasing Mac (Connery), she is really planning this heist. She needs Connery's skills to help pull it off. The idea is clever, and she is both beautiful and extremely sexy. The problem is that while Connery was a young James Bond figure, some of the special effects could be believable. However, at his age in this movie, half of these stunts would have killed a man of thirty, much less one of seventy.Read full review
Robert "Mac" MacDougal has an untarnished reputation as the world's greatest art thief. So when a priceless Rembrant is stolen in New York, the evidence points to Mac. Insurance investigator "Gin" Baker persuades her boss, whose company will lose $24 million on the theft, to let her go after the master criminal. The strong-willed and resourceful Gin has to entrap Mac, but he proves even more elusive and crafty than she expected. Sean is the kind of man that gets better with age and Mrs. Jones is just exotic looking. So when the two got together it was perfect. This movie is exciting and full of adventure.
