The series is good, as far as something made/broadcast by BBC in 1978-80. Each episode is broken down into three 15 minute segments which is a bother although I am sure this is the way it was originally aired. All in all, the 2004 re-make, Island At War, is probably more palatible-although less accurate to what actually happened on the Channel Islands. For comparison and additional details, I recommend looking up both titles on the website www.IMDB.com
I didn't know that the germans had been on islands under the control of UK during WW2.This set of dvd'S tells using some of Britain's best actors what happened and how the people of the island endured.A super set of DVD's.
Great follow up to series one and a must for people interested in the history of the war.Such a pity the 3rd series was cancelled.
