This must be one of Elvis's best concerts towards the end of his life, he would be dead in just over eight months time. He looks good sounds good and seems to be really enjoying himself in this New Years eve concert. It is a great pitty that the CBS TV special that was taped in June 1977 with Elvis in very poor health was not taped here as it would have been a far greater end to the Elvis legend. This is only an audience recording IE small tape recorder on someones lap so the sound quality is not great but the show itself makes it a very worth while purchase.
I had this concert on audio cassette and was pleased to find this on CD. I would love to see this concert on dvd. The atmosphere and the audience were amazing,

December 31, 1976 in Pittsburgh. It's Elvis Presley's last new year's eve. He has less than nine months left to live, and he really delivers one of his best shows ever. This double-Cd is well worth buying. It coems in a beautiful fold-out digipack. It contains many of his major hits through his career, and some really rare gems as well. Great rockers like "Jailhouse Rock", "Big Boss Man" and "What'd I Say" are mixed with more rare songs like "Fairytale", "Hurt", "Rags To Riches" and "Auld Lang Syne". Before you buy it, you should be aware that this is an audience recording. RCA never recorded this show (at least not officially). This show was bootlegged a few decades ago, but this release is an original official RCA CD. Due to the massive demand for RCA to release this show, they bought the tape and remastered it. This is probably the best ever sound this show will be released in. But you should know that the sound is not like other RCA released Elvis shows. But well worth the money for this historic and superb show. Get it today.Read full review
