I've tried other coated roundwounds, but none give me the range of great tones on my jazz bass that these offer. Nails the burpy lows, growly mids, and clear highs that define the jazz bass in rock to deep round sounds that make it versatile for other styles. The light gauge feels just right to me for fingerstyle or pick playing. A little expensive, but very long lasting and high quality.

These strings are all I use on my 20+ basses, been using them since the 90s when they first came out. They seem pricey, but in the long run they are cheaper than uncoated strings because one set of Elixirs will outlast three or more sets of uncoated strings. I get close to a year out of each set. They sound like nickel roundwounds because they are, without the highest "clangy" metallic sound. Plus they feel so silky! I'm sold!

Old school pro bassist that used all the usual bass strings for years. After using these strings for the last 3 yrs I can attest to these lasting 5 times longer or more! Plus your hands glide better on the strings making it easier to play. They still sound great with 16 hot sweaty out door gigs. I’ll never use anything else. Cost more but totally worth it!

If you need a roundwound string for the type of music you play, these are an excellent choice..they sound excellent, have a very smooth feel and last a long time! Except for my flatwound basses, they all have Elixer nickles on.

Elixers, as most folks already know are a very good coated bass string with a very long fifespan. Great strings, great price, and fast shipping from the seller.
