"Horses" introduced the Patti Smith Group to the world with her poetry, the band's garage/punk rock drive and their combined love of the music. It helped ignite a whole punk rock scene in NYC and in turn, the rest of the rock world. However, it was on the band's third album,"Easter", that they truly blossomed. It was here that their early raw roots meshed with their ongoing growth as musicians. The material they were writing, along with production that gave it added depth and power made this album shine. Though "Horses" is, without a doubt,a landmark in rock history and culture;"Easter" may very well be their finest work.
I had this vinyl. She is a great poet.
