The basic storyline: Set in the near future where a man-made nanoscopic black hole somehow slipped from our creation into the center of the planet, and will destroy it within 2 years. Yet only a select few know about it. The story follows several groups of characters as they work to find a way to save the planet from being destroyed, and follows another whose will is to destroy it. Likes: definitely good storytelling, I could really feel the sense of impending doom that the characters felt. It also predicts future technologies which we use today and shows the extreme ranges of human control - good and evil. I couldn't put the book down. Dislikes: I can't think of any offhand, the story kept me intrigued throughout. Overall: One of my few 5 star book pics. Definitely work reading. If you love science fiction then you'll want to buy it too to read over and over.Read full review
Was expecting a nice intelligent take on the weirdness of our Universe and exploration of earth and it's connection to the cosmos. Nope. Not that kind of book. Too much philosophy and a lot of boring facts. Not an action book.
