This beautifully filmed DVD has no narration; it's purpose is not to inform. What it does is show stunningly photographed marine life in its nearly infinite variety. The sound track is new age-y and aimless, which contributes to the relaxing effect of the visuals. I watch this DVD sometimes when I feel very stressed or when I have trouble sleeping. The lovely images and quiet music calm and relax me and also remind me of the endless variety and beauty of life on our planet.
As expected, the photography is beautiful. However, a significant amount of underwater scenery was ruined for me by the presence of scuba divers! I am looking at nature videos to get away from the world of humans. Not only is the diver out of place for the eco-system, but it is a constant reminder of our rape of the planet. The description of the video talked about the myriad of marine "creatures", but never mentioned the divers who distract and look downright ugly next to the glorious fauna and flora. Wish they would have left them out, or at least mentioned the human presence.
I love this DVD! It intrances me. There are so many kinds of sea creatures, I enjoy seeing which ones I know. Some I have no idea about. The action is smooth and continuous and at the same time it holds my interest, it also relaxes me. I have yet to see the complete dvd cause it knocks me out.
If you like being at zero G with all the creation down under the sea, then you will appreciate this video. The producer of this video has done an exceptional job at capturing the essence of the underwater world. I would buy another video from this producer. Very well done.
i am so glad i decided to buy this dvd...such incredible footage and amazing creatures...it's the "Calgon" of dvds
