And at the bargain price of around $1,274 from the recent Ebay deal, it's my second unit, $500 LESS than my first purchase non ebay.. the KORG MR2000S is a superior sounding, easy to use recorder. I make some live recording of my favorite local band www.mattoree.com. Using some great AKG 414 XLII/ S mics, the KORG captures all the live realism, sonic purity, pristine clarity. Easy to use, records in numerous modes from superb top end 2X DSD all the way through Cd 44.1 88, wav. The Korg is very reliable, versatile, 100% perfect. Has worked perfectly from day one. the included Audiogate software is terrific, to convert to different formats, . Free online updates to latest versions. the KORG is an incredible deal, on a superior machine, and software
I am well faminliar with the Korg recorder purchased, being an ownwer of the more portable model, the MR1000. I first saw the MR2000S at an AES convention and right there decided to eventually purchase one. It is everything it's supposed to be and contains a few more features than the portable. The sound of both models is excellent. My only complaint, with the MR2000S, is the way the input level is adjusted, which is through the "menu" and not an easy access "knob". This is important to me since a good deal of the work I do is on location and quick adjustment capabilty is preferable. But I knew that from the beginning and bought it anyway.
Excellent for classical music, very safe use for live recording (no bug, no fail). Highly recommended for serious work and top definition recording !
