I don’t give reviews, but I will make the exception. Being a fan of multi track CDs, and having a collection of them this is a great representation of the format. The separation of instruments is superb in my opinion. A great listening experience an homage to a great album.

I have been playing the CD for years and know it well. Im not sure the SACD is any closer to the master than the CD. The content, lyrically and musically is - erudite and exquisite, a perfect SACD candidate - so i would recommend - only if you don't already have the CD. If you have been listening to mp3s or streaming - i think you will find the body of the music improved here. New Kid in Town and Last Resort standouts on this format. Best!

I have the original first pressing album, the new vinyl version, the first cd version and this Sacd. The Sacd blows all the others away. I love vinyl, but this cd is by far the best version of this album, hands down. Clear, rich, heard so many things I have never heard before. The Last Resort was particularly impressive. It actually brought tears to my eyes. Every song on this album is great, but this Sacd just makes them... I do not know how to explain, just give it a listen. One note, ADJUST YOUR BASS , it is a bit heavier and up front on this version, but well worth the tweaking.

Amazing, rich, detailed and logical surround mix for Hotel California. Vocals stay centered across the front and center channels, guitars and drums also, with guitars in the rear channels at times for effect, and the surrounds are used very well for strings, background vocals, impact, flourishes, etc. The stereo mix is a little bright for my taste, especially the lead guitars. But still a very solid mastering. Can't recommend highly enough if you enjoy surround sound music...

There is little doubt about this being one of the greatest rock albums ever. The music is something that lulls you into it's magic. The vocals are always clear, with meaning that makes you see the scene. And then there is the recording itself. That is what I listen for most. With a good sound system you will hear more in the details and background than you remembered from the first few times you heard it on vinyl. That's because equipment and technology have gotten better, but just as importantly, this was transcribed the way all older music should have been. No one one was in a hurry here to get this out 'quick and dirty'. Rather, as much information as possible was given to the CD. For me, that is where it paid off the most. This is one great recording.
