It works just fine, and can work for months without needing a re-boot, but it can't connect to embedded devices (including other routers) if the cord between the router and device is over ~50 feet, it still works perfectly with PCs with a longer cord. Most people wouldn't need that sort of range with embedded devices, this is sort of a heads up for people that do so they don't go crazy trying to figure out why it works perfectly fine with their PC, but not with {insert embedded device here}

I originally bought this router intended to be a 2nd router on home internet since I have 6 PCs with functions in my home. Now look..the price and quality you cant beat with this deal for $9 ( only as a back up router if you main goes out ) If you are planning to use it as a 2nd router on your line DONT! Because you run a high risk of burning up your 1st router by adding it even if you do it correctly it can still overheat your 1st router LAN to LAN (they do give feedback to the first line and its techincally abble to harm your 1st router..so if you are needing a 2nd I suggest just getting an extra USB wireless ethernet adapter for PC (about the same price) and has higher speed i.e. 300mbps (simply plug it in your USB port with your 1st router on and it will pick up the closest signal and makes running the line obsolete if your router is on obverse side of your residence then say 2 PCs (then just get 2 USB eth Adapters or 1 USB adapter for each PC that needs an extra line (it bypasses LAN connection and is much safer than hardware conflict)..Also to explain my rating 1 star taken away because seller did not include required setup disc and the instructions are very vague of what you really need to know ..also usefullness is only as abackup router if my main one goes out front heat..and my original intent going from what seller said still ends up being replaced on the USB adapters not the router..so thats 2 stars taken away...Good Luck all hope this review helped you make the right decision see you on Ebay...Read full review
I had an old D-link router when my cable company switched to high speed internet. I was really looking forward to the new service, but my D-link didn't like it at all. It dropped connections several times a day and I would have to reboot too many times to count. I reviewed comments about several routers and thought this Dynex sounded like it might do the trick. I bought a used one at a very good price in case it couldn't handle the high speed (60mbs). It hasn't froze or dropped service since I plugged it in over 2 months ago. I don't know about its extra features because I just plugged in the cables and it worked just fine without doing anything else. Very pleased.
i have several computers like the rest of y'all and got this to connect between my current wifi router and the cable modem. works GREAT!!! so far i can't find where the bottleneck is in my setup, because it doesn't seem to exist. i have a 10Mbps connection and it ALWAYS tests just over that. Like all have said, before i could even run the setup, it was already working. and it made it EASIER to setup my apple wifi router than it was to set up with the cable box directly (i had the apple wifi router first). for the money I wish I had a need for ten or twelve of these things, this is one of the best items and purchases i have made in a VERY long time. ATTENTION, highly recommended to go ahead and run the setup in order to change the default password, otherwise you could be headed for disaster. AND one other guy mentioned the included docs being tiny, they are, BUT! go to their website and they have it on pdf and they also have another more thourough version on pdf as well.Read full review
This router was easy to setup, almost plugnplay. All I needed to do was run the network wizard in XP after connecting everything and it works fine, no problems. It works as well or better than the BEFSR41 it replaced. I have only used it on XP machines but it certainly works well with them, other OS I cannot attest to. It should be a good choice for XP and later MS OSes.
