Takes a little long to load but fine during game play. Shipping took a little longer then suspected!

Disappointing to say the least. Gone are the days of the unlockable weapons or anything for that matter, just unlockable characters. Almost everyone has a staff/glaive/long stick and don't tell me Ling Tongs is still some kind of nunchuck, its still a long staff split into 3. Guan Ping's Giant Sword is gone. And Cao Pi's "Darth Maul" like dual ended blade is replaced by a regular long sword. There's a lot of LAG, yes I said LAG, slow downs during big fights and special effects specially fire and when you are surrounded by officers. Two player mode feels like your playing in slow motion. Lag should be non-existent on a console and don't give me the excuse that its because of the PS2's limitation cause KOEI has never had lag in the previous games in the series. I've always enjoyed the series but this one just feels that KOEI didn't even try to make a good game.Read full review
I have played every game in the Dynasty Warrior series. I got hooked when my brother bought Dynasty Warriors 2 for PS2. We played for hours the first night we played. We have both been hooked on this series ever since. Each game has seemed to get better then the last even though its pretty much the same thing everytime. The graphics get better, the fighting gets better, and the stories get better everytime....with exception to this one. My brother got a Xbox 360 and got Dynasty Warriors 6 for it. I played it when I visited him and it was pretty cool. So when I saw that they made it for PS2 I was very happy. When I got it and played it I was beyond disgusted! It is NOTHING like the Xbox or PS3 versions. It is horrible! Somehow the graphics got worse then the previous titles, the fighting system is the worst hands down in the series. The storylines are fewer and worse. Pretty much everything about this game is horrible. If you want to play Dynasty Warriors I highly recommend Dynasty Warriors 5, cause that is easily the best in the series! DO NOT BUY 6 FOR PLAYSTATION 2!!!! In my opinion one of the worst games ever made for any system.Read full review
DW6 is a bit of a down grade from the last but it's a good value. Dynasty warrior's 5 Empires is the best game in the series. Get it if you don't have.

One might be surprised as to the great change this game in the series had undergone. But it was for the better. Written below is my detailed review: GRAPHICS: Backgrounds don't have high resolution, but surprisingly look realistic. This can be seen especially in the Battle of Jing Province. Anti-aliasing is low; like castle roofs where there are jagged lines appear to be moving. Character models look good and their faces are discernible. As for the menu interface and cinematics, they appear to be a little blurry but nevertheless are still visible. GAMEPLAY: Unlike past Dynasty Warriors games, this one has a big change in the gameplay. All attacks of each character are entirely new, and realistic. There are no more automatic moves such as "square, square, triangle" combos. Aside from normal, charge, and musou attacks, there will be "renbu" attacks which are unique to that specific character, and "special" attacks which can be acquired by a "tome" which is dropped by enemies in the battlefield, or by having a special innate "ability". Characters will have no arrow attacks as compared to past DW games.Read full review
