This cd is great! Its still contempoary and my interest in this artist is renewed.I listen to a radio station in Florida and some of this artists songs are always on during the day. I have seen this artist play live and was impressed with the performance. Occasionally, live music is not the same as recorded music! I am hopeful about live experiences being as good as recorded music. This cd has really interesting orchestrations and it might very well surpass what we call "pop" music. Sophisticated and also for hipsters. Is Duncan Shiek still recording music and playing live performances? I can't wait to see him again. What a asset to the music community.
When I see an artist that can play 8 or more musical instruments I have to say hmmm, where did this guy come from. Sheik very honestly must have dozens of influences he has drawn on. At points I am thinking Beattles and at others the Moody Blues. Not to mention the fact that an archestra seems to be backing him. Taking one self serious enough to get that many people together is a feat in itself. I suppose if he can bring memories of classic rock and pop to me then this album must be worth having. How about you?
I've always wanted this CD and the price was right...there are many awesome songs on it. The music is easy to listen to and his voice is entrancing.
I mainly like this CD for two songs, Track 1 - She Runs Away and Track 3 - Barely Breathing However, I listened to the whole CD and it is very mellow and calming. Great for anyone wanting to relax while listening to some music. I still primarily like She Runs Away and Barely Breathing but for a buck plus shipping I think it was worth it!
