WOW! What makes this movie is the bands, the drumlines, the interaction between the band director and the character it expresses. The tough love a teacher is what it takes to learn a character the hard way in this great family show. You could definitely sit down with your kids, no matter what age as the little ones will love the music, and the older ones will have fun watching this movie, as well as learn a valuable lesson about life. The only bad thing about this movie is some of the acting could be a bit better, but for the rookie actor Nick Cannon he really showed his stuff and made it to the big time. Worth every penny spent on this show. You will watch it time and time again, as well as make you wiggle, and dance in your seat. Overall this is a well rounded, Entertaining, Great moral, Realistic, Fun show. They show you what we have been trying to teach kids for years in sports, character, and moral. You won't regret investing in this one. Two thumbs up!!Read full review
This Movie is so bad.I was a drummer in high school for a national championship band in the 70's from NE,Pa,I love the way they did this movie as the showmanship in the bands now are far more glitzy and the drum lines are treated differently than they were back then. The one band, one sound motivation speech is excellent, this is put across to you very quickly by not only by instructors but the band members too.The drum line is the most important part of any band as it keeps everyone in the band in synch and if one member of that line screws up,the whole competition is lost.Dont get me wrong the brass line is just as important, but its the drumline who keeps the band in perfect step.Nick Cannon is good, but if he had messed up that way in our band,he would not have been able to come back on the line.I love the way Nick's character changes threw the hard work and dedication of the others.Seeing that dedication would change anyone like it did in the movie.Orlando Jones is wonderful and Zoe Saldana is as beautiful as ever and did I mention sexy.Overall this movie is a 10.It is well worth buying this movie and watching again and again.Read full review
For fans of America's show-style marching bands, halftime is game time. A squad of players, some 300 strong and armed with musical instruments, takes over the field, commanding attention with their stirring, spectacular display of choreography and musicianship. The football contest's controlled mayhem makes way for the blaring sound of trumpets and the heart-thumping rhythm of drums. This movie can't be beat for its dazzling theatrics and foot-stomping fun. Thoroughly enjoyable.
Got this for my grandson who is in High School band this year. He had never seen it
