Great book on drawing. Since 7 I've had a natural talent for drawing including portraits. This book explains and confirms exactly what I already see and express in my mind on paper. Drawing is the basis and starting point for using other medium, like paint. I like how the author uses drawings and sketches of the masters as examples to explain style and technique... and even progress of their skill. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to improve their drawing skills.

I have really made progress since I've started reading & practicing exercises in this book. Up til now "drawing what I see" have proved difficult. My drawings are beginning to look as they appear!

Interesting angle for learning how to draw. Be mindful of the fact that you will need supplies outside of just a pencil and a sheet of paper, but nothing too burdensome.

Haven't finished the book yet, since this is a learning book, not just to read, so I do the project they have to get you learning about art. I've enjoyed it so far.
