The major contention of this book is that the accused killed his wife with a lamp at 4 in the morning but according to the son and maid there was no lamp. Also, what happened to the smashed light bulb? No glass was discovered at the scene. This problem is not addressed. The book does a good job of portraying the accused as a bounder, adulterer and cheapskate. But does that make him a murderer? The accused entire family is accused of coverup and even falsifying evidence. The reasons given are based on flimsy accusations not hard facts. Also, what became of the accused blood splattered shirt and pants if he changed as prosecutors contend? Too many accusations and unanswered questions.
