Marcia Ball is high energy, fun, and terrific. The songs are upbeat and real toe-tappers, although I could have done without the baleful tones of "Louisianna"... In all fairness, if my hometown was flooded I'd be mourning too. At times the CD sounds as if it was recorded in a tin can. I know it was live, but 2005 technology should have been better than that! But still... all in all, you can't go wrong with Marcia Ball.
Rocking good South Texas Blues and Gulf Coast Cajun has never sounded so good. Marcia Ball's enthusiasm is amazing, and this is a glimpse at one of her high powered live concerts. Once you hear this lady live, you will be a fervent fan and that is a fact; not an idle claim. Why she is not known and loved by everyone is a question that all of her fans ask; but then again, maybe we just want to keep her for ourselves.
Great CD

i have seen this engaging veteran performer live a number of times. the record captures her very well, and features her current travelling repertoire. a full cd, well-recorded, and the band really kicks.
I ordered this CD after watching a special about displaced musicians from New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. Marcia Ball sang a song Louisiana 1927 and I ordered the CD particularly for that song.
