This cd contains songs from the soundtrack of the television show, "The Roaring Twenties". The program was a weekly show in the early 1960's. The 1920's or "Roaring Twenties" was the nostalgic period during the early 60's. This particular cd contains both of the albums that were produced from the series. The location of the performances of the songs was a "Speak Easy", which were popular restaurants/bars/dance halls where 'illegal' alcohol was served. The 1920's was the period of prohibition. In one of the episodes, the Dorothy Provine character "Pinky" ends one her songs with the statement "keep us legal - drink us dry". The compilation of songs contained on the cd is an excellent example of popular songs of the 1920's.Read full review
