I wish Dr Who could go on forever. Tom Baker is one of my favorites, as David Tennant, and Matt Smith. But, then each Dr has their own great personnalities and are a pleasure to become a part of. Thank you

Doctor Who is my favorite show and since they don't show it on PBS I have to buy the series. It is about a Time Lord who travels through space and time in his Tardis (Time and Relative Dimension in Space.) The Tardis is shaped like a police phone box. He travels with a companion. I bought this set because my other set had a skip in The Forest in the Night and I couldn't find a replacement disc.

Even though we are senior citizens, my hubby and I have loved the Dr. Who series since it came back in 2005 with Christopher Eccelston. We have loved every Doctor since but are especially pleased that an older actor--Peter Capaldi--was the most recent selection. We find that we have to watch each episode several times to appreciate the complete story. First, just to catch the spectacle of the action and one-liners. Second, to completely understand (well, almost) all the language and nuance of the dialogue. Thereafter, to enjoy how all of it fits together. Each episode is jam-packed with plot twist, science fiction, comedy, human drama, clever dialogue, and, yes, even love. We so appreciate the opportunity to purchase this series for such a low price (fixed income and all that). Thank you so much. Long live the Doctor!Read full review
We call this doctor the depressing one. After the fun of David Tennant and Matt Smith, he's kinda been an acquired taste, as we've gone along. We adore Clara's character of course, and the fun twists and turns of the plot. It's still amazing writing, and compelling stories - there just have been so many "depressing-ish" episodes this round, that we find ourselves missing the previous doctors.....

As an old-time, classic "Doctor Who" fan, I'm thrilled by the new series. However, I've missed the various incarnations of the classic doctors, when his relationships with his companions were more fatherly than boyfriend-like, and he was a bit less manic. Peter Capaldi is a return to the Doctor of yesteryear while still presenting the excellent scripts and production values of the New Who. I really love the spiral of the new opening credits, which I consider the best opening EVER! I also love that Clara is a three-dimensional character with a life of her own, and that the emotional depth is much more realistic. And "Missy" is not to be missed! I love the Doctor—ALL of him—but Capaldi is one of the best.
