If you have old IDE SATA HDD's that are in other pc's, with this device you can get all the data off using your USB port. It recognizes it as an USB device. For HDD's that have the motor a seperate power supply is provided. This is the best thing since sliced bread. Before sliced bread, the best thing was the knife :)
