The good: very simple, fast and effective. The bad: these don't last indefinitely. So my suggestion is to use on the rare or hard to find discs you are interested in collecting or preserving. A data disc would be worthy if it contained one of a kind info. The abrasive material on the verticle rubber wheel is what will wear out and there are no cheap replacements to be found anymore. If your a do it your selfer you might be able to replace it with some quality sand paper but that would not be easy. I'd use some auto plastic polish for the final touch. Like the kind you polish the headlight covers with.

The motorized version does a much better job than the manual crank SkipDr. It rotates the disc at a much higher speed and your arm doesn't get tired... :) The machine does well on light to medium scratches. I've been checking out discs from the library and they often have scratches that cause skipping. I've fixed each of them with this machine and returned the discs in better shape than I got them in.

I used to have one of these, and its so effective itll feel like it uses magic. If you use one of these, and do in conjunction with having the repair kit, use some clear sealant like an hard enamel, varnish, fingernail polish, etc, and carefully(as to not get any on the downside of the cd) put a layer or two on coving completely over the foil/topside of your cd(s) to prevent nearly any damages from ever happening to the data, AND take good care (even pretty sloppy care, like i do) care of your cds, then chances are excellent that youll bever have to rebuy an album again, barring that

This unit is really nice, works well! Purchase a 12v external power supply, it’s worth it! Batteries get eaten up fast, so everything works better and longer this way!
