I purchased Diabetic Candy, Cookie & Dessert Cookbook by Mary Jane Finsand because,like me, I have several friends and family members who are diabetic. It's very hard to be diabetic during the Holidays. The recipes in this book are wonderful! My diabetic and nondiabetic friends and family members thoroughly enjoyed the many treats I made, using the recipes from this book. I have a annual Christmas cookie exchange and Christmas Eve Buffet and no one felt left out. I entertain often. I will be using this book many times throught the year to make several kinds of cookies and desserts for the occasions. I highly recommend this cookbook to anyone who loves candy, cookies and desserts! I love this book!

Bought this for my friend. She loves it! Can eat sweets
My friend was miserable during the holidays, she was just diagnosed. I asked her if she had a cookbook...NO...I bought her this and now she can eat sweets again!!! She will be better able to cope with her condition now!!! Wonderful!!! I would recommend this book to anyone that is struggling with this condition. I'm thinking of ordering another one just encase. Some of the recipes would also be good for a low carb diet with a few adjustments to the ingredients.

Uses artificial sweeteners no longer available
It recommended using artificial sweeteners no longer available. It is hard to know how to translate the amounts into todays sweetness, like Stevia. Good recipe ideas though.

Especially at holiday times when parties and gatherings of all sorts feature delicious sweets, it can be difficult for diabetics to resist or else they can feel left out. Here's a way that you can help diabetics enjoy sweets without sacrificing their health. This is a pretty thorough little book with lots of options. I recommend it for your specialty cooking needs.
