The Dyatlovincident is a rather bizarre mystery that nobody’s been able to explain. And it seems like the filmmakers got together to recreate it in the most fantastical way possible.this is based on a true story. The true story is a tragedy that has been embellished many times over from being ricocheted around the internet into some sort of paranormal mystery involving Yetis, UFOS and in this movie the Philadelphia experiment and teleportation. The nature shots are great. I can only recommend it if you like mysteries and a bit of horror.

I was hoping that this movie would tell the story about the original 9 Russian hikers and shed light on what really happened to them. But it had nothing to do with them at all. It was a fictional story about 6 young Oregon students who received a grant to go to Russia and study the story of 1959 Dyatlov Pass incident, but turned out to be a cheap horror movie that was totally unbelievable. It was a waste of time and money for me.

I love this movie. It's nearly impossible to give an accurate description without giving away all the twists and turns that it throws at you. It's one you will have to watch again to pick up on all the subtleties you missed the first, and maybe second, time. A group of college students set out to the Ural mountains in Northern Russia to try and solve a 50 year old mystery. The characters are very likable. The story unfolds with good pacing. This could've gone bad at the hands of the wrong director. Renny Harlin does not disappoint in this one. All the questions you might have are all answered throughout the movie, the reason it's best watched more than once. The way everything comes together at the end is nothing short of a work of art. I've read the book in which the movie is based. Yes, the movie is a fictionalized version of the book. The original story was never solved, a mystery. That left a lot of room for storytelling in the screenplay. Just watch it. Then watch it again.Read full review

Based on actual events that are still unexplained. A remake is in the works. Worth watching.
