The processing speeds with windows 10 is a bit off. when I restart the laptop, it'll do this problem where the computer sets what you're working on as the top project so you have to minimize each program before it allows you to view other programs which I don't like. It happens on my other laptop too but I have a feeling that's more on Microsoft than the dell laptop itself. My only other complaint would be the touchpad on the computer, its not very sensitive at all so unless I'm in tablet or tent mode, I have a hard time moving the mouse. This is my first 2 in 1/ touchscreen laptop so aside from those issues, I absolutely love it!

I wanted a small portable convertible PC, mainly for use with typical office applications, to replace a Surface 3 X5 version. I considered and tried many options, including the Onda Obook and the 2016 Dell Inspiron 11 3000. In this review I'll compare it to those two similar priced options, and why I ended up with the 3157. The main purpose of this machine was to be first and foremost a home surf and email laptop. But as a user experience designer, I have to do some work in the evenings at times. In addition, I wanted it to be truly portable, as I spend some hours as a local politician at council meetings. I tried The Onda Obook, a similar priced convertible. Ok screen and battery, but it has a really stiff trackpad. Resulting in the desire to bring a mouse, and not making it properly portable. I then tried the 2016 edition of the Dell Inspiron 11, but it failed to impress on several areas. The screen had bad viewing angels and colors (NOT IPS), and the battery was weak. Then I got the recommendation to go for the 2015 edition of the Dell Inspiron 11. I got the 3157 version, complete with the Pentium N3700 and 4gb ram, and do not regret. The good: A great IPS screen, with accurate color reproduction. Great viewing angels makes this a perfect travel companion for watching movies, in addition to Photoshop work. Long lasting battery. No problem lasting a whole day on the road. Great trackpad. Precise and with two finger scrolling working every time. Quite large for such a small laptop. The Pentium N3700 is a Atom processor in disguise, but with higher turbo speed and faster GPU. Quick enough for the odd Photoshop job, but cool enough to not run the fan most of the time. Not to bad keyboard. A little flex but, good travel distance for the keys with OK spacing. No problem typing at my normal speed. Metal hinges making it feel sturdy in laptop, tent and tablet mode. Disables the keyboard automatically. User replaceable memory and harddrive. (Support up to 8GB of ram from a single slot) The bad: Heavy compared to tablet only windows machines like the surface. Tablet mode is only useful when resting it on your lap or table Quite large bezel, but no problem fitting it in a A4 messenger bag. Slow harddrive. This disappointed me, and made me first regret the purchase. But swapping it for a Samsung SSD, made the machine into a different beast. The surface on the lid scratches easily, with small hairline scratches from normal transportation (Not a huge problem, only visible when really looking) Not available in Norway atm, so had to import it from USA. (Well worth the wait) All in all, happy with the machine. It works in every aspect for what I need, but there are more powerful options out there like the Lenovo Yoga Series. If you don't need the touchscreen, there are many more options. But the tablet mode makes a really good sofa surfer, and tent mode is perfect for viewing together.Read full review
