I trained in various disciplines for 25 years and have bought and given away several copies of this book. It is now the only remaining martial art book in my library. If you train in a more traditional style with a focus on practical application and self-defense, this book goes into detail regarding the potentially devestating, and often lethal, effects basic techniques have on the human anatomy. The diagrams, drawings, and photos are often graphic, as should be the case. Please know this is not a "how-to" book; it presumes you know how the techniques are to be executed. And if you're interested only in martial arts as a "sport," pass this title by. There's nothing "sporting" about breaking knee-caps and crushing carotid arteries. Great book!
Very easy to read and understand. Very compelling and informative. Great addition to my martial arts library.
