Make sure your computer is able to run this game, it’s a hit and miss call if you use a xbox 360 controller for PC games (I do) and most games do have xbox 360 controller compatibility. The Game runs relatively fine if your computer is up to it, Game Graphics look better on the PC but not “wow-better” Gameplay is still relatively clunky and this game has slightly improved from Dead Rising 1, but DR2 “feels” the same and unchanged. This game does have a "wired" XBOX 360 Controller compatibility but no workie with my wireless controller with the usb receiver. There are some unverified reports of some wired 360 controllers not working with this game, so just be aware. If you play exclusively with the keyboard then it’s not a problem. The PC version has better loading screens than its 360 version but that depends on how “fast” or “game ready” your computer is. Also, this game runs better if installed on :/C drive, it will install on other drive locations e.g. :/D but I’ve been encountering windows freezing so I’ve uninstalled it from :/D drive and reinstalled on my native :/C drive and haven’t encountered any freezes. I am in the minority of people having this drive location problem. Here are my specs: HP DC7700, ATI PCI-e 5770, SCSI U320 Fujitsu 120GB 15k HDD, Adaptec PCI-e x1 SCSI Controller 68 Pin, 4x1G 5300 DDR2 RAM, Win 7 (Pro) 32-bitRead full review
If you've never played Dead Rising I'd personally say your missing out on one of this generations most unique & interesting action games. With 2 Malls & a vegas strip theres plenty of places to go & room to explore! The game is basically a survival action game with a "zombie movie" type plot. You have 3 days (in game time) to find out and expose a plot to frame you for causing a zombie infestation before the military arrives. You must also search for the anti zombie treatment "zombrex" as your young daughter has been bitten by a zombie & must have the drug or she will turn into a zombie as well. You venture out of the "safe house" area to run missions to carry the plot along & there are also optional missions of saving other survivors & killing psychos(mini bosses) who are at certain locations at certain times through out the 3 days. In DR2 almost everything is usable as a weapon from the standard guns, knives, swords to cardboard boxes, chairs, cds, lps, leaf blower, lawn mower & childrens toys exc... There are special "combo cards" that you get or find as you progress letting you combine 2 weapons into 1 stronger weapon. The 1st being combine a baseball bat & a package of nails equaling the nail bat. Each weapon has its own moves generally being a standard & a power move. As you fight you get "Prestige Points"(PP) which is basically experience that once you get enough of your character levels up. Leveling up gives you a preset character boost like more health, a new combo card, the ability to carry more items, faster speed, more strength, a new special combo move or a couple of the pre mentioned. One of the cool things about the DR series is the 3day time factor it makes you utilize your time if you want to keep the story going, save those other survivors(for mass PP) & get the items you want to use to fight with. If you ignore the story too long it will become void & thus the truth will be lost. The other survivors show up at set time points in the game & will die if you don't get them to join you after a certain amount of time. The game is fairly long as you will likely want to build up your levels to gain the stats & perks of doing so. The game has moderate "official" minimum specs to run the game, OS: Windows Vista, XP, Windows 7 Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 Ghz or better, AMD Athlon X2 2.2 Ghz or better Memory: 2 GB RAM, 8.5 GB free hard drive space Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 8800GTS or better, ATI RadeonTM HD 3850 or better I personally run this title fine on XP Home P4 3.2ghz(single core) 2 gigs 400mhz ram 512meg GF 9800GTX+ at 1024x768 res. The options interface is limited so reconfiguration of keys must be done directly in the games Config file. Only the official MS Wired PC 360 USB controller is supported. No Wifi ver! I play this fine with a mouse & KB. I advise you to buy this game NEW! Its worth the cost! If a used game has been activated on Games for Widows Live you will need a NEW CD Key IN ORDER TO BE ABLE TO play online! You will only be able to save a used CD Key game on a "local"(offline) GFWL account. Game Rated Mature 17+ Beat em' up, Shoot em' up, Cut em' up, Blow em' up & Mow em' down DR2 is all about killin' & time management! Its a unique game, low cost & moderate specs so check it out. Thanks for your time & have a good day!Read full review
If you liked the first game, then you'll love this one! It's almost identical to the first game, so nothing new to get used to. The added features are great, especially the combo weapons. I also love the co-op feature!
Got it on time. Code worked fine.
Verified purchase: Yes | Condition: New
Great game if you like the first game..lots silly ways to kill zombies and fun. Story was pretty good and kept my attention. The charcters are solid and the coop is fun.
