We had a 50 pt. Delonghi Humidifier before and it operated on a sensor . When the humidity reached the level of humidity it was set for it would shut down . Then when the humidity rose to a certain point , it would start back up. It would repeat this cycle continuously until it was manually shut off. I preferred that mode of operation . This one , the fan runs all the time until it is manually shut off.

I have a ground unit condo, in Maryland, so it can feel damp. I already have a Frigidaire 70 pint dehumidifier for my master bedroom and it works like a champ. I need to empty the water catch bucket, maybe once a day, but not an issue. I bought this unit, by DeLonghi for it's size, 70 pint, and because it has a hose and pump. I planned to use it in the main living area, so thought the hose and pump feature would be very helpful, AND it was advertised as more quiet than its competitors....Not so much. This is a very LOUD unit, even on the low fan speed. It does remove the moisture, and with slightly cooler air coming out of the exhaust than the Frigidaire, but so much noisier. And, when you remove the tank to empty, not as well designed. After you pull out the catch tank, if fairly full you need to set it down to pull the carry handle up, and it tilts, so I've had a couple of spills. And, after properly shutting off, and letting it sit for a minute, water still drains and drips on floor of tank housing after you remove the tank. That is the most aggravating issue. None of these items/issues, nor all combined, make it worth the effort to return, but I would not recommend this unit for main area use. I'm sure it would be wonderful in a basement, where you don't spend much time in its vicinity, but bad for living areas, and I can't imagine it in a bedroom. Read full review

I bought this unit as an open box, it works great. BUT THE PUMP STOPPER AT THE BOTTOM OF THE TANK WAS MISSING. MANUFACTURER SAID THEY WOULD SEND ONE SO I THINK I WILL BE ALL SET. .

I have received the dehumidifier at the end of the humid season. It works, but I will not be able to properly rate this unit until I would be able to use it thru a full summer. I live in NH and we have humid basements with the cool basements and hot outside temps.
