My all-time favorite show. It's an animated series featuring Drake Mallard who is the masked crimefighter Darkwing Duck by night and adoptive father of a nine year old highly spirited daughter round the clock. It's witty and throws in a lot of relationships even with the villans. Volume 1 includes the first 27 episodes. Many especially enjoy the first 2 episodes which show how Darkwing met up with his dim-witted, large-hearted sidekick, and came to adopt his daughter, Gosalyn, rounding himself out as a character. About 1/3 of the series would probably make my "favorites" list and a relatively proportionate number of that third are in the first volume. There are still 37 episodes, however, that have not been released by Disney including my very favorite episode and a whole lot of other favorite, even more than are on volume 1 & 2. The more people that beg for it's release, the more likely they MIGHT be to actually release it! To beg for a 3rd volume, or the release of all the rest of the episodes, go to the disney web page under videos and contact them. Please help the cause if you like Darkwing Duck at all; just add your voice! It'll only take 2 minutes and Disney won't hound you, they'll just send a generic message in reply saying they're forwarding the request to marketing for consideration.Read full review
My dad and I used to watch this when I was little. Watching it again has brought back memories. My little brother is 13 and loves these shows. It is very clean, and even has some play on words that kids may not get but the older watchers will. If you have ever watched "Whinnie the Pooh" or "Loony Tunes" you will love this. Darkwing Duck is like Batman, he doesn't have any superpowers but he is a superhero! Great quality, good sound and picture. Here is what it says about the movie on the back of the DVD case. "Villains beware! Caped crime fighter Darkwing Duck is on the job. With his loyal sidekick, Launchpad, and a whole bunch of zany high-tech gadgets, Darkwing does his best to keep the city of St. Canard safe - and that's the easy part of his day! Darkwing must Juggle the responsibilities of being a superhero and being a dad to nine-year-old Gosalyn, With three discs full of adventure and laughs, Darkwing Duck is a feather-raising good time." I would recommend this to friends and family. I liked how he adopted his daughter Gosalyn you don't see that to often in cartoons.Read full review

I used to watch this show when I was little and loved it. It was great to relive it. Very funny and child-friendly viewing. Even though I'm older now, I still enjoy watching it. Lots of silly humor and cool superhero action. It's about Darkwing Duck, a crime-fighting hero who protects the city with the help of Launchpad McQuack (from Ducktales). He uses lots of neat gadgets and vehicles. Perfect gift for a child (ages 7 and up I would say). Even adults will enjoy watching with kids. This is a wonderful cartoon DVD set. I highly recommend it.
The characters are outrageously hilarious for all ages. Should be a guide for single fathers with “high spirited” daughters. So you’ll know what to expect. It’s a fun series.
