This cd set is foremost for the Danzig fan; the person who is completing their collection of his recorded material. Those people that are new to Danzig, who are thinking of buying this two disc cd set, should listen to the studio versions of the songs, and also see him in concert to relate to the music. If a person would listen to the concert recordings having never seen him in concert, would most likely think that he was not that good. The recording quality of the first cd is good, the vocals and music are easy to listen to. The material on the second disc was recorded approximately nine to ten years after the first one, at a different concert. It appears that this material was recorded without the intention of releasing it on a live album, as the vocals trail off in parts, either by the music drowning out the vocals or it appears Danzig pulls the microphone away from his mouth for dramatic effect. The effect leaves the listener who might not know his material to guess what he is singing. I suggest seeing him in concert before buying this cd set to make the purchase and listening more enjoyable. I do not regret buying this cd set, it was a good purchase and recommend it only with the stipulations as stated above.Read full review
After listening to this 2 Disc set I put Disc 1 in and played it again. Disc 1 has the original line up in top form the eve of Halloween 1992 at Irvine Meadows, CA. The second half of Disc 1 has Joey Castillo replacing original Drummer Chuck Biscuits on Dec 1994 at The Seattle Center Arena, WA. The band rips through a excellent version of "Stalker Song" & ends Disc 1 with a searing "Long Way Back from Hell" Disc II is from the Satans Child 2000 Tour. Glenn is joined with Joey Castillo on Drums, Howie Pyro-Bass & Todd Youth playing Guiar. This Disc has the band playing many new songs, Glenn peppers this set with smokin versions of Twist Of Cain, It's Comin Down, Her Black Wings and other great songs from the first 4 LP's. I read a review of this release and had to laugh at the non musical related cheap shots this so called "Critic" was tossing around, sounding more like a bitter ex girlfriend than a actual writer. My laughter soon stopped when "Critic" Rossiter Drake called the release "A glorified Bootleg, with horrible sound quality". In my opinion it's very listenable and higher quality Fidelity than you would get from a Bootleg or Fan Club pressing. All in all I rate this as a keeper, so if you are lucky enough to find a copy of this out of print gem.....don't hesitate to scoop it up and get your Danzig on!Read full review
