I read a review on this that said it looked like a bunch cheer leaders got together and mixed up a bunch of dance steps to make a work out. Yes and No. Please read on. I've been dancing country all my life and know a lot about whats popular and how their done. This is Not going to teach you how to do a bunch of different styles of line dancing. What is IS going to do is teach you many of the basic steps that are incorporated is all those STYLES and how to put them together. I have viewed many instructional line dancing DVDs and this one breaks things down in EASY-TO-FOLLOW lessons. The DVD is also easy to maneuver back and forth to any step and you do not have to sit through the whole thing. You can click on segments to take you right to the lesson you want. It's NOT boring. It's easy and has aerobic style work outs for all the steps they teach.Read full review
I was looking for a very active line dance tape, with the actual music. But was disappointed for a beginner or someone who doesn't want to work up a sweat this dvd would be ok, but to someone who's line danced and knows it can be a workout this dvd would be disappointing. I'd like to find a line dance dvd that actually used the real songs you dance to and less coaching / talking from the instructor. I mean they can't see me, so quit telling me how good I'm doing. Just show me the steps then shut up.
If you like dance-based workouts, and country line dancing, this is a really cool workout dvd! It isn't a total body workout. The workout is strictly cardio...there are no abdominal exercises, no strength-training, and very little stretching (you stretch in the warm up and cool down for a few minutes), so it should be used in conjunction with other workout dvds. But it is so fun that you will WANT to do it, and be motivated to exercise! If you are an experienced 'dancer' you will find the dance steps moderately challenging. If you are a beginner, you may have to spend more time watching the 15 minute segment that teaches the dance steps. You will need a good amount of floor space to do the steps. If I had one complaint about this dvd it would be that the backround decor wasn't very "country." But the music was good.Read full review
I bought this tape, because I love to dance. The basic moves were easy to follow, although I did have to stop the tape and practice them a few more times than the tape allowed. I did not get all the moves as fast as they were done during the dance, but I have only done it once! It was fun and I got the exercise I wanted while trying to keep up. The moves are not hard and they are explained very well. Like everything else a person to accomplish, I need to keep working on it and this is a fun way to it.
A gift for my sis (65 & legally blind) she thought she might not be able to remember the steps, but she mastered it & is looking for more! More fun than exercise!...~.~...
