I have been studying the life and works of Gerry Anderson for several years now. The shows that Gerry and his very talented teams put together were amazing and very entertaining. The is actually my second copy of this film. The first disc broke while I was removing it from the case. This was after several viewings. So, I order this DVD as a replacement. I enjoy the featurettes just as much as the film. I encourage anyone considering buying this film to do so.

The production is excellent! Everyone knows this. It s the format!!! The sound has been enhanced but it is in 4:3 and not widescreen. Seems it should have the widescreen option just like all other recent DVD formatted releases.

This is a good show with extras including a commentary. The overall gestalt of a puppet show science fiction will strike most as tedious and mundane, however the fact that "skyship one" was openly using a "gravity compensation system" is quite refreshing. The few with interest in such things understand that this technology, even though it is still not seen in mainstream channels today, has been around since about 1920. Technology advocates might look up "marconi vortex dynamo", and "super-fluid gravity centrifuge". All others can just go back to their shopping and say "bah". The humorous nature in which the acquisition of "thunderbird six" came about is sublime, and just a little bit tragic. The comical situation by which this were achieved provides an entertaining show that is at once poignant and campy. There is violence in the form of "flashlight-gun-marionette-murder", but with no blood. - They are only plastic and cardboard, okay?Read full review
After purchasing the Thunderbird's Are GO! Rescue Edition DVD recently, I had to add the other motion picture also based on Thunderbird's television series to my collection. Thunderbird 6 differed from the style of the previous Thunderbird's movie in several different ways. Most importantly, it is less gadget oriented and more character driven. This film comes off as being more polished than the first film, and to me, more satisfying. There are scenes which are just to long and should have been edited (some of the bi-plane scenes) but all in all if you enjoyed memories of the original TV series or your experiencing this "something different" form of entertainment for the first time, you can't go wrong with acquiring this film at a good price. It is fun for all ages.
I loved this show as a kid and didn't know they made a couple movies. Only difficulty is they concentrated too much on Alan in all the movies including the live one Don't make shows like this anymore. Loved the puppetry. A forgotten art
