Doctor Who is a BBC production that spans from the Late 1960' thru ,, well now. The main BBC series ran thru 1989 and "The Doctor" was played by several actors. In this Episode (Story #157) The Doctor is played by, what was thought then, as the last BBC Doctor Sylvester McCoy (years 1987 - 1989) Mr McCoy has that funny "Dry British Humor" that makes you smile yet,, when he or one of his friends is in danger you know it and start sitting on the edge of your chair rooting for him to come thru and save the day. Thru the years different actors played the Doctor because as a Time Lord the Doctor can regenerate his body. Each time the Doctor regenerates a new actor takes his place. Thus each "new" Doctor has their own quirks and skills ,aking it a series that changes,, yet stays the same. A Time Lord is called that because in his trusty TARDIS he can go anywhere or anyWHEN. This Doctor can travel the entire Universe visiting strange alien (to us) worlds or he can visit earth's past and watch Devinchy paint the Mona Lisa This makes for a ever changing landscape of thrills and chills for kids of all ages!! I enjoy this entire series because of thrilling SiFi action and special effects PLUS the fact I can show it to my grandkids and not worry about adult content. We first got "hooked" on The Doctor series by watching it on a PBS Station in Florida and became a regular watcher and member for years. One thing to remember about this series, the special effects change and improve as the years past. Just like Star Wars episodes 4, 5, and 6's special effects are not as "fancy" as Episodes 1, 2, and 3. So Please judge Doctor Who by the years filmed and not by todays computer generated special effects. Cuddos go to BBC special effects people for pioneering TV special effects!! Please watch and have some clean FUN with all members of your family!! Thanks for reading this.Read full review
I am personally a Whovian. sure there are Star Wars fans, and Star Trek fans, but I have always found Doctor Who to be the greatest of them all, especially with over 15 years of episodes to watch. here is a time Lord with the power to do anything he wants, and he goes around the galaxy saving the universe, and his pet people us earthlings as well. of course the quality of action is not what you expect in today's movies, but overall these are some great classics and I suggest you add them to your archive today, and help the tradition continue.
The world is coming to an end thanks for all the fish.

Only three episodes long, this DVD leaves the viewer wondering about details left out of the story. To find out the answers you have to watch the making of special feature to fill in the gaps in the story telling. Not one of the better Doctor Who storylines. Still worth picking up just to add to your Doctor Who collection.
