  • Two reformers (one little known)...

Most folks are unaware of debates between Luther (Bondage of the Will) and Erasmus (Discourse on Free Will) at the time of the Protestant Reformation or that both men were Roman Catholic priests. Luther left the church and Erasmus did not, although both were aware of, and condemned the abuses of its prelates, priests and monks. But Luther also disdained the teachings of the early post-Apostolic Fathers and Doctors, while Erasmus did not... and they also differed about the capabilities of man’s will, mutually exclusive differences, which became manifest in the theologies of John Calvin and Jacobus Arminius. This little book is a glimpse at these differences and one well-worth reading.
