This foray into the secular industry did not fair well for Delirious, as good as this cd is. This little experiment here did not gain them the mainstream success that they were hoping for. From here, they then went back to their unique and worshipful arena rock that so many Christian fans had found so endearing previously. This British group with the lush U2 sound may have revolutionized Christian music, but this disc does not gain them the new ground that they so deserve. While it is an honest effort at making Christianity more accessible, the results are a mixed bag. From here, they wisely head back to what they do best. This does not mean that this isn't a good cd. Its midtempo rock still has its appeal. But, it only has a few hits and quite a few misses. For Christian fans, this less detailed theology may be a bit disappointing. The lyrics here are vague. They may be futuristic and heavenward, but the specifics are sadly omitted this time around. Mezzanine Floor, as with many other songs, is simply an easy listening alt-rock anthem longing for more out of life. Gravity and Bliss might be the only real rockers here. Gravity is a fun song, while Bliss is an explosion of effects and distortion that no church service has ever attempted.Read full review
