great cd, one of daves best studio and live performance, dreaming tree is great, a fantastic song with meaningful lyrics. Of course, this album has a host of artists performing with the band. artists like bela fleck, tim reynolds, and alanis morisette. The last stop has proven to be one of daves more popular songs on tour and one of his rarely played songs, the spoon, is also one the cd. a fantastic cd with some of dmb's best recordings!
The album begins with a short song urging the listener to come and relax, let your troubles down, don't bear the weight of your worries and let them all fall away. And this, successfully sets the mood. Listening to Dave Matthews, you won't just stay for one or two songs, you'll want to stay on and listen to the rest of the album and enjoy the musical ride. I've never had the opportunity to listen to them live, but I could just imagine how great they would be. This is one of those albums where you really can feel that the musicians that made it loved making it, loved making music. It's like one big jam session and you can just hop on and enjoy the groove. If you've ever played music or really loved listening to music, this one is for you. It's music for the the die hard music fans and the for the music makers, the album just urges you to come on in and enjoy the ride and tap, tap, tap to the beats.Read full review
I have always enjoyed Dave's entire band. Dave sings songs that make you wanna dance. He's a fun, romantic, very real, lovely. He's unique. He can hold anyones attention with so many types of insruments, violins, flute, and the greatest guest singers in the world. I could swear Atlants morrisette is on this fantastic album...but...he needs. to put the credits in larger print as I couldn't SEE the credits. He is a true musical artist. Always will be..................
I lost this CD a while back, and being one of the best CDs I've ever owned I had to replace it. This is highly produced DMB at thier best. Tim Reynolds adds amazing electric guitar to the entire album, and other guests like Bela Fleck and Alanis Morisette add their own unique flare. If you like "Under The Table And Dreaming" or "Crash" you will love this album. It is the last of the DMB studio albums to feature Tim Reynolds and also the last produced by Steve Lillywhite, so it still has the band's unique sound found on earlier albums that was lost, to a certain degree, to a more poppish sound on more recent albums.
Hey, I don't have anything bad to say about this or any of Dave Matthews Band's albums for that matter! Sure the band's style is a little different here - can you think of a band that hasn't changed over the years... Anyway, 2 of my faves - the fun Stay, and my all time best Crush. Pick this one up, if you enjoy any of DMB's music, you'll certainly enjoy this!
