Paid $100 with free shipping for a manufacturer refurbished unit. For home use this router is excellent. Range is superior, antenna power dialed down to low and still have wi-fi from the street curb. Hardware and software are easy to install. Only two drawbacks - the WPS function is hard to configure, actually easier doing the traditional manual syncing and lastly there are a lot of features to this router and you will have to read the manual to navigate through the settings to get the most out of it. * Router lays flat no wall mouting holes.
Had to replace my relatively new (one year old) Cisco (Linksys) router after it kept losing the connection and having to do a hard boot on the router every day. Decided to upgrade to the 900 dual band router to compete for bandwidth with my gamer son! I've been quite satisfied on it's performance thus far. Not locks, lag time, buffering, etc. when I watch Netflix through my wireless Blu-ray on TV. It is an outstanding router, and I will never use all of it's features.
Very strong signal, best on the first channel, the 2.4G, the 5G channel works but signal not as strong. Is nice to have 2 too choose from and dedicate. Good product and the guy I bought it from was GREAT!!! First one came not working and he shipped out a replacement ASAP!

I always bought a D-Link router since needing one because it always worked well and it was easy to install BUT I won't ever again purchase another D-Link. First of all my last D-Link router lasted less than 6 months. It was great while it lasted. I have tried 3 days to get this one to work. I am so disappointed and frustrated. I wouldn't recommend D-Link Dir-857 Dualband HD 900 Mbps 4-Port Gigabit Wireless N Router(DIR-857)to anybody in good conscience.
